Had a Bad Day?
“A Successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him or her” – David Brinkley
It’s been quite some time. I have been really busy and somehow work never seems to have an end. There are a string of classes I have to oversee and a list of tasks that are due, and time is not on my side. And of all the time in the world, my body decides to give in and lose all its energy stored inside.
Somehow, I always thought I want this real bad. And when I finally got something along that line, I begin to doubt if this is what I really want. I don’t even know how I should be feeling. I am neither happy nor sad. I am neither angry nor appeased. I want to cry and give up on everything but yet there is this bit of me not willing to let go and succumb to fate. The other determined half of me wanting to give it a try and do anything within my means to see through everything.
I wish I would be more optimistic about everything and the direction I am heading. I wish I knew what I was doing. I wish 50 000 dollars would drop from the sky someday and land safely on my hands so I can pursue my studies without any concerns. Most importantly, I wish I would just stop complaining and get upset over small little things.
I know I shouldn’t be complaining and should just learn to accept the way things are and deal with the situation I am caught in. I am ashamed that whenever I am thrown with a challenge (which is nothing big compared to what others may face), I struggle to keep myself in check and get all emotional about everything.
Because life is a journey, it’s like writing a book. The author represents you, the plot given represents your fate and destiny, the dateline, money issues and critics represent the obstacles you face in life. Every chapter in the book represents each phrase you go through in life.
The plot may be given but how you write, start a chapter or even your approach to the story can give a whole new twist to the book. Blunders and challenges may come along the way, some you can amend and some you can’t. But with every challenges you face, it shapes your character, moulds you as a person and makes you stronger. And behind all the unhappiness, displeasure and setbacks that may dampen your spirit, somewhere out there, if you just look hard enough, there is always light where beautiful memories lies waiting to be created. And just because life is not easy, full of challenges and setbacks we may face, does that mean we should stop writing our chapters and miss out on a chance to write a beautiful story?
Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to grey
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on
You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee to go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces everytime
And I don't need no carryin' on
Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Well you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on
Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you knowT
hat you could be well oh that strong
And I'm not wrong
So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
